Baseline is a member of The American Sports Builders Association. The (ASBA) was founded in 1965 as the U.S. Tennis Court & Track Builders Association (USTC&TBA) by a group of contractors who recognized the need for an organization that could help them address their mutual problems, set industry standards and keep them informed on issues pertinent to their businesses.  Its name was changed in 2004 to reflect the broad range of work performed by its members.  With more than 500 member companies, ASBA is a national organization for builders, designers and material and accessory suppliers for tennis courts, running tracks, natural and synthetic turf fields, indoor and outdoor synthetic sports surfaces.  It is recognized as a centralized source for technical information, including consumer-oriented information.


 

Both Will Ferguson and David Clapp have served as Chairman of the Board for ASBA. Baseline is highly active in the association and both David Clapp and Daniel Benner hold certifications as builders in the industry. David is a Certified Tennis Court Builder as well as a Certified Track Builder and Daniel is a Certified Field Builder for Synthetic Fields. Baseline enjoys the comradery, networking and continued education through technical meetings, tradeshows, and commitee participation.

ASBA Distinguished Single Field Facility in 2018 for the Carter High School Football and Soccer Field in
Strawberry Plains, TN. Conversion and reconstruction of the field to synthetic turf including raising the elevation by two and a half feet with retaining wall.

Distinguished Outdoor Tennis Facility Award in 2017 from the ASBA for the Southern Wesleyan Tennis Facility in Central, SC. New construction of 6 courts with sidewalks, lights and fencing.

Distinguished Multi Field Facility Award in 2016 for the Sansom Sports Complex in Knoxville, TN. Construction of two full size synthetic soccer fields, one natural grass field, fencing and netting, a pavilion covered field with adjacent fieldhouse and parking lot. Work also included a redesigned city streetscape with curbing, sidewalks, bus stop and landscaping.

Distinguished Residential Tennis Facility in 2014. New construction of a private residence in Tennessee using a sub-irrigated clay court system with fencing, curbing, court lighting and playing lines.

The University of the South received a Distinguished Outdoor Tennis Facility Award in 2013 for new construction of two varsity tennis courts. The project consisted of site work, retaining walls, base construction, fencing and surfacing to add two courts to their existing varsity tennis facility in Sewanee, TN.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Indoor Tennis Facility of the Year Award in 2011 for work on the indoor tennis facility at Belle Meade Country Club in Nashville, TN. The project consisted of digging out 8 existing flood damaged tennis courts with an asphalt base and replacing them with a post tension concrete base and cushioned acrylic surface. The project also included new backdrop and divider curtains, column pads, and net posts.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Distinguished Outdoor Tennis Facility Award from the American Sports Builders Association in 2012 for work on the tennis facility at the Sevierville City Park in Sevierville, TN. The projected consisted of renovating 8 asphalt tennis courts using the stone slipsheet method, as well as renovating the fencing around the courts.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Outstanding Tennis Facility Award from American Sports Builders Association in 2008 for the construction of the Greene County Tennis Association Tennis Facility in Greeneville, TN. The project consisted of 6 hard courts and 2 soft courts.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Outstanding Sports Field Award from American Sports Builders Association in 2006 for the renovation of the Intramural Sports Field at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. The synthetic turf was replaced on this facility which is used for both intramural sports and marching band practice.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Outstanding Indoor Tennis Facility Award from American Sports Builders Association in 2006 for the construction of the Center Court Racquet Club in Louisville, TN. The fabric frame building covers four tennis courts as well as a prefabricated panel building which includes a mezzanine level, locker rooms, pro shop, and offices.

Baseline Sports Construction received an Outstanding Tennis Facility Award from American Sports Builders Association in 2002 for the construction of the Student Recreation Center at Pellissippi State Technical Community College in Knoxville, TN. The fabric frame building covers three tennis courts and one basketball court.

Baseline Sports Construction was a winner of a Tennis Industry Magazine’s 1999 Court of the Year Award. The Bagwell Tennis Center located at Webb School in Knoxville, TN features an indoor tennis facility. The four indoor courts are covered by a fabric frame building which offers indirect lighting, gable ends that open for natural ventilation, and an excellent year around playing environment. The Bagwell Tennis Center was also the recipient of an Outstanding Tennis Facility Award from the U.S.T.C. & T.B.A. for 1999.
